Gandhidham Maitri Mandal (GMM), the NGO, was established by Shri Bhai Pratap Dialdas, a visionary who was the founder of Gandhidham and Adipur townships in 1950 to look after the needs of the refugees coming from Sindh.
Gandhidham Maitri Mandal was set up to provide opportunities to the people to educate and look after their children, as well as fulfill the cultural needs of the displaced persons. A lot of water has flown under the bridge since then, today Gandhidham Maitri Mandal is the manager of 4 Higher Secondary, 4 Secondary, 4 Primary Schools, 5 Bal Mandirs, Yoga Mandir, Gymnasium Center, Public Library With Reading Room, Bewas Vani Mandir, Bhai Pratap Memorial, Dada Dukhayal Smarak and 1 Teachers Training College (B.Ed. College) with over 4000 students on its rolls who belong to Sindhis as well as other communities resident in these towns.
